Hi Everyone,

I just bought a couple of RES's and I think I know the sex's but I would still like to confirm it. They are both 4". :mrgreen:

I think one is a male and one is a female. :?:

The first looks like a female..not sure about the second.... kinda looks like a male to me but I could be wrong!

no. 1 female and no.2 i'd say male..

Here is a couple of close up's, I thought they might help

This is the one I think is a female, she is slightly larger.

This is the one I tink might be a male, he's slightly smaller (of course that dosen't necessarly mean anything at this age)

I'm really just guessing, I'm going by some sexing guides i've seen.

At the size they are 4 in the nails would be much longer on a male and the tail would also be much longer and thinner.

2 pretty females

My Shadow is only 3.62 inches, and his claws and tail is much long than your 4 inch turtle, so i'm guessing their females

It would be good if they are both females, since I don't really want to breed and I also hear females get along better. :mrgreen:

As long as they are 4 inches then I still agree with my last post, those are definitely 2 females.

A males tail is much thicker and longer then a females, their cloaca extends pretty far past the shell where in both your pictures their cloaca is pretty close to even with their shells. Also by 4 inches you would notice the longer "freddy kruger" style nails devoloping on them if they were male.
