Nice looking turtle. :) It looks like you've progressively raised the water level over the past few months, which is good. Since Vien is growing, taking out that stack of rocks and just using the turtle dock would give more swimming room.

I don't know (can't remember, sorry) how big your turtle is, and don't remember seeing a clear picture of the nails, but there's one pic that I remember that shows the tail, and to me it looks like a female's tail. If your turtle's shell length without the curve is around 3 inches or less, it still could be a little while before you know with any certainty, though...

thanks. I wanted to take the rocks out, but my step dad gave me the puppy eyes,so I had to leave it in, after all he did get me all that stuff. But I'll try to get algea to grow on it, so I can take it out.But still, Vienie has a lot more room to swim in, and I think she likes the rock, she can rest on it while in water.he-he.She is 2.5 inches, i think, and i had her for a little more than 5 month.Hum, I thought it might be a boy, cuz his tale is thick, and he has prolapse, but it goes back in, and his nails are pretty long.Well thanks for the comments.

This is the turtle you posted about in the Urgent Care forum? How is the turtle now? The problem has resolved itself? If your turtle was fanning/exposing himself, the question of the sex has been answered...

yep, that's the turtle. It's still too young, but I think it's a boy.The prolapse does go back in, and the turtle is fanning. It's doing much better now, it still annoys him, so he tries to rip it out, but i try to take his attention away from it, so he doesn't damage himself.

oh yea, it eats much better now, it almost took my fingesr off yesterday.I can only hand feed her now, because the filter sucks all the food up.and she's much more active.

You are sure what is coming out is the male organ? If, what is coming out of your turtle is a male organ, your turtle is not too young to know he's a boy. But I'm wondering about your comment that he "tries to rip it out." I've never heard of a male turtle trying to do this when fanning...
