It's not a turtle, but I wanted to share with you all. This is my new baby, Julia.

Yikes! Jen what are you going to do with her when she gets huge? lol, as if the turts don't get big enough. Can we say, BIGGER house? Where did the name Julia come from?

Well she's in a 20long right now and a 40long is the most she'll need. She'll get 4 or 5 feet and that'll take a while. They dont do much except sit around. I'm going to add a level to the current tank and put another hide box in but that's really all she needs. Even so, if/when Pandora and Rocks need an upgrade, Julia can have their 125gal. The name came from one of my favourite songs by Our Lady Peace.

Oh, thanks Jen!! I've been telling my daughter no to a snake for quite a while... now she's seen yours and is starting all over!

While I'm not crazy for snakes as pets, Julia is a very pretty one. Good luck with her. :)

See, that's the thing. Feeding live mice is dangerous for the snake. One well placed bite and the mouse can kill it. The mouse needs to be stunned (which I refuse to do) or pre-killed. I buy frozen fuzzies and thaw them out and that's what she eats.
