i cant tell which is female and which is male cos my turtles' tummy look the same to me ha....

I've heard that going by their plastron isn't always the easiest or best way to tell what gender you have. If your turtle is over four inches, looking at the nails and tail is probably easier anyways.

Turtles aren't really social animals. There are risks with having more than one turtle. There is also the chance that they won't get along, and this means having to pay for two complete set ups. Where two cats would share food and space. Turtles would mean two tanks, two stands, two UVB lights, basking areas...blah blah blah, lol. The list goes on. I say this over and over, but if I had only known...

The plastron (concave or not) doesn't really apply to RES. I'v'e read it applies more to some species of land turtles.
