Cute Res. From your other post I know you are going to remove the gravel, but do they have a heat lamp? Or just the uvb tube? And is there anything in between the uvb and the basking dock? And any reason why you have not fill the tank up more? They are very nice looking RES you got there. :D

no heat lamp yet ,no just the doc then the hood and the light , my one turtle at the last pic seems to have a hard time swimming plus she is sick i would say , or something , just dont got alot of money for things, once i get money in they r getting a bigger tank and more things, ive spent 150-200 just on this tank. not including the tank everything inside it

Yes I have that problem too, my girlfriend brought home Pokey because she thought he was cute and bought him for 10 bucks then I had to spend 150 just to give him a livable environment... turtles are pretty low maintenance but they require alot of set up.

Is there glass in the hood? If your res had super stretchy arms could they reach up from there dock and touch the actual florescent tube? I am just making sure sorry to be a pest, but if there is anything in between the florescent tube(unless it has holes in it that are at least 1/2" wide) and the dock it will filter some or all of the UVB out.

Like mentioned, the glass will filter out the UVB. With the glass they aren't getting the needed rays and it is a waste.

I'm not worried about them escaping. The glass in the hood will filter UVB rays. Is there any way you can remove the glass from the hood?
