Anyone else have a turtle that tucks his head almost all the way in while basking? :lol:

mine does that sometimes,he closes his eyes and tucks his head all the way in while sticking his behind legs out.sometimes when i walk in to the room and glance at him it freaks me out because it looks like he's headless!

My turtle is so camera shy! I don't know why, something about it scares him so much that he hisses and jumps in his shell when I try to take a picture.

Spike just really like basking this way. He does it about 50 % of the time basking. He actuall is the more social of the 2!

My RES does that sometimes, but usually more toward the evening. Don't know why, maybe it has to do with getting ready for the night.

Mine sucks her head in sometimes while basking, but then she lets her legs hang all the way out behind her. Sheba is so lazy that she doesn't even bother to try to lift her legs up off her platform (doesn't "fan" them like some of the little turts on this board that look like they are flying).

I'd love to see a pic of Sheba with her head tucked in basking! That sounds super cute. She has such a sweet face anyway.

Yeah, that sweet face gets me every time.....she already conned me out of all my fresh blueberries! Yeesh.

LOL! My lil guy use to do that when I first got him. Sometimes you wouldn't see his head at all...just his nostrils! Picture is a bit hard to see but he's really tucked in there! ^o^

paco for some reason... almost never wants to bask.... hes always interested in the suroundings of his tank... and chasing fish... every time i see him... hes usualy flying around his tank like a little torpedo
