Gary...being the butt that he likes to be, FINALLY ate 2 crickets the other night after a month or so without eating, and he's been quite active lately, everytime i look in the cage he's moved to a different hide.

Pic time.

Yeah, his tail is quite thin due to the period of his buttness, so now i just gotta feed him and build it back up.

It's an adorable leopard gecko! Do you know how old he is ? He appears to be full grown.

hey ellman, next time your 'lil guy doesn't eat, throw this together.

"In a blender, combine:
1 small can Hill's A/D pet food (available at most vets)
1/4-1/3 cup Ensure (not chocolate)
1 jar baby food squash
1/4-1/3 cup Pedialite
2 tablets or contents of 2 capsules milk thistle (herbal supplement, liver purifier, found at most drug stores.)
1/2 tsp. each calcium powder and herp vitamin powder
1 large handful of mealworms, added slowly while mixture is blending

Puree all ingredients until completely smooth, and pour into ice cube tray(s) and freeze. Store cubes in zip-lock bag in the freezer until ready to use, then thaw out 1 cube at a time and store in fridge for 2-3 days. I use the empty baby food jar for this purpose, washing it thoroughly after each batch.

Using this mixture, draw a full dropper (eye dropper type) and place a drop on the gecko's nose. It will lick it off, and as it does, slowly squeeze out a little at a time. Most geckos love this food, and will lap it up."

if he refuses to eat it, put a little dab on his nose, and he should lick it off, then keep doing it till he starts eating a sufficent amount of crix.

i read about that, but i also read that he was supposed to be a butt and not eat due to the winter months. So i let him go through it, but now i won't do that again :P.

P.S. Don't mind me calling him a butt, it's cause he is.

He's 10 months, i got him on the 15th of March 2005, so he's still a juvie, but almost full grown...little weirdo.
