As you all know, Siobhan is sick now with some strange illness affecting his lungs (check in the Urgent Care section for the whole story). The weird thing is that last night (just before Siobhan got sick), I took pictures of him to give you all an update on how he is growing/doing & everything looked fine! I was so happy about my little green eating machine! It's weird how in 8 hours he can change sooooo much, but I figured I would at least post the "healthy" pics since I took them. Hopefully he will return back to "healthy" eventually.....

His shell is so pretty. I wish Rascal would sit in my hand like that. She doesn't hide anymore, but she doesn't want anything to do with us either (unless it's feeding time!).

Well, Siobhan doesn't sit there in my hand that quietly normally, and believe me, I had a very soft area for him to land on just in case he decided to start running, LOL. I just caught him at a moment when he sat still for about 10 seconds, long enough for me to get the picture! :)

He did NOT like me taking a picture of his belly though. You can see him struggling a little bit in that picture.

Thanks all. As I mentioned in my "URGENT CARE" post, Siobhan passed away sometime early-evening last night. The vet is actually looking into what killed him though. There was an unusual parasite in his stool sample & they want to do an Autopsy to take a look, so that's what is going on today.

I will keep you all posted. Thank you for all the nice comments. I miss him very much. :(

I'm sorry for your loss, sometimes there is just nothing you can do...

Won't you please get another baby? There are so many out there that need a good home.

I have to think about getting another baby. My concern right now is that I am simply out of money & I need to make sure I can continue to provide for Sheba's needs in the event I ever have to take her to the vet for something. Siobhan's trip to the emergency vet on Tues. morning cost me $234 + $24 visit to the 2nd vet. Thank goodness I had a Visa gift card for $25 which covered at least some of that overall cost. The rest of the balance went onto my credit card which has been carrying a balance for 2 yrs now.

As much as I would like to get another baby, I don't think I will be able to do it just because I would have to make sure I have money to take them to the vet if they need it.

He really was a sweet-looking turtle. It's amazing and scary how quickly things can change... :(
