As some of you may know, I moved my babies into a 29 gallon tank last Friday. Here's some pics, hope you all approve!

Okay, your tank looks good! :D I love the decorations..

But there are only two bugs about it. First, it isnt a smart idea to keep your tank near a window (direct sunlight) because it can cook the water do dangerous temps. You dont want to fry your turtles.

Good water temp would be in the mid 70's (78 degrees for hatchlings, 75 degrees for adults and sub - adults)

(check your other thread about the water heater)

That looks great! They look so tiny in there! Just be sure that all of the rocks are bigger than their heads (keep this in mind as they get bigger :))

Also, I'm not sure how much light that window gets, but many people discourage from putting a tank near a window, as it can raise the water temp quickly, not to mention can aid in algea growth :)

What a nice upgrade! THe other problem with putting tanks near windows is drafts... which can cause illness in turtles.

Ditto on the window. Even if it doesnt get direct sun, you will notice alot of algae over time. I have my 55 gal tank by the window and even with the blinds closed, I'm noticing algae building up on the glass.
Other than that, it looks pretty good!

Appreciate all the input.

Even though the tank is next to the window, the window never opens (no drafts) and the outside has a lot of shade so I doubt the water heats up with the sun, plus I keep the room pretty cool with the AC.

Thanks!

You don't have a water heater, so if your room's pretty cool, won't your turtle water be cold, too?

I like your tank though! It looks a bit like mine!

Ok, I closed the blinds on the window so now the sunlight doesn't come through. I finally got a thermometer and the water temp is around 78F and the basking temp around 96F.

All good?

Basking is a little high, unless your guys like it that way. My guys seem to like it at exactly 90F.
