A friend of mine told me about a guy he knew who went there for vacation and wound up moving out there permanently. I could easily see that happening. :D

Beautiful. Like paradise. Your grandparents were pretty wonderful to have such a fabulous family get together.

A few years ago my uncle did something similar for his family. We spent four days at a resort in Manzanilla on the west coast of Mexico. It was one of the highlights of my life.

you see, that sounds really cool, but i would fear that i would begin to take it for granted. all of the locals, they are really nice and all, but something that nice, being so normal, so everyday...you just dont appriciate it as much you know?

i did see alot of people/locals there that oviously moved out there to just do nothing the rest of their lives and live on a house on stilts over the ocean and stuff, but i dont think i could ever do that, no matter how much i loved the place.

anyway, arent those sea turtles amazing? everyone gets so excited to see them over there, yet they remain so calm and mysterious...wise even. i mean i could probably do algebra better than the turtle could but the old big ones just look so..intelligent..

The turtles have been around for many many many millions of years. They came long before the dinasaurs and are with us still. They must know something.

hmmm, I dunno. You still have to do the 9 to 5 grind to earn a living. It would just be really cool to live so close to so many awesome places to visit on the weekends. And the house on stilts would be a great way to retire early! I could definitely get into that. Sit on my front porch with a fishing pole and a cooler of Coronas watching the sea turtles swimming by with a gorgeous sunset in the background... I could definitely get into that.

I'd go to Mexico. It's not expensive there and the coastal areas are gorgeous.

On one of the main islands in Hawaii, a pet store owner had received a shipment of Jackson's Chameleons (the ones with the 3 horns) but they were very dehydrated and ill. So he put them in his fenced in backyard so they could soak in the tropical rain and natural sunlight. Well, several of them escaped and today there is a thriving population of them. They can be seen everywhere in the forests. I would love to go and see that! :)

Mexico, there's way too much crime and corruption over there though. :( I'd be a little nervous about venturing away from the resort areas. I don't know which is scarier, the highway bandits or the corrupt police departments.

i spent 6 seeks in mexico. it was in cuernavaca, its below mexico city, and not very touristy, which is good. we lived with a family. its very very tropical there and safer. really nice. very pretty catholic churches there. and silver! cheap silver.

all of the corruption is mostly near the border, which i hate going to. its pretty sleezy at the border. not very safe for women if you know what i mean. guys would follow me and it was not fun. i stuck near my dad. good shopping tho.
