before i post pictures let me first explain why i feel the need to yet again post pics of the habitat :) ;)

the little ones were having problems, and me wanting to make everyone as comfy as i possibly can got the wheels turning.

i'll start with slip and slide:
--they had an algae problem so bad i was ready to cry. MAJOR algae bloom almost overnight, and it was bad enough that when i drained the water it was brown. didn't take pictures of that, was just too ashamed. did a full water change, and scrubbed all the deco. i did leave a little bit in there (the why in a bit :))
--along with the algae problem was a space issue. it's bad enough the little ones have to be in a tiny 20 gallon :( but all the stuff i shoved in there was taking up too much valuable space! the cave/basking platform was great, but it had two rather horrid flaws 1. it was rather short, so i couldn't set the water level very high, and the basking area was too small and 2. while it is hollow and it wasn't taking up a LOT of swimming space, it was still taking away too much. SO it went.
--the plate did help in expanding the basking platform, but it didn't let me raise the water level but a couple of inches. so i flipped it upside down and put the matching cup on top of it. inside the cup? live plants. since lucky is no longer in the big tank i put his hiding pagoda in the little tank so it could cover the big hole in its matching pot.
--the turtle dock was put back.
--the silk and plastic plant?

there are no more fake plants in either of the aquariums. uh uh, they're all real now :)

and the unveiling:

the water level has been raised from 10 gallons to 17. the little ones are loving it :)

john and aeryn:
well they've never had an algae bloom that bad, but they did lose a very good hiding spot when the silk plant and hiding pot (which aeryn was getting stuck in) was removed. i attempted to plant the aqua plants in cups to give them some manner of hiding spot, but they uprooted those =Þ
--they got their cave back!
--because the cave does have the one little hole that both john and aeryn are big enough to get stuck in, i put the plants in that hole and tucked it snugly in the curves of the cave. no uprooting, no getting stuck! and it extends their hiding spot.

and check it out, there are still two surviving ghost shrimp (the second one stayed tucked under the cave so i didn't get him in the shot)

The tanks look very nice! :D So they're not eating the live plants?

Is this another "see if you can find the ghost shrimp" game? I can't see him. i guess that's cause he's a ghost, right? :P

And Zha'an is looking awfully pale. Shouldn't she be blue?

ha ha! i just wanted keep the farscape thing going. all i need now is a rygel.

ETA: yeah they're eating the plants now. i just want them to be easy with the uprooting cuz it was a pain to clean. i know that's asking a lot.

the ghost shrimp, er, i meant to circle him when i fixed the dimensions, cuz they're just plain hard to see period. i've been out of it all weekend so i just plain forgot to do so. fixing it now, sorry =Þ

I like the colors too! Are the glasses made of glass or plastic?

He he, I must've missed the Chiana name before too. Cool snail! :)

Hey if you ever get a frog, that would make a perfect Rigel the 16th! ;)
