Nice setup! I'm so sorry to hear that savage died.

It looks like you could raise the water level a little bit. Also, I would take those smaller rocks out and just stick with big ones. Small rocks can be very deadly.

I love that rock formation you found. Where'd you get it?

i agree with raising the water level a bit. It looks ver nice, and nimrod is a very cute little baby.

I agree. take the small rocks if not all the rocks out. It will give your turtle more swimming space and keep the tank cleaner :)

i am planning on taking the smaller rocks out, but i have to get a few more bigger rocks.
and the basking area isnt really HUGE its only a ten gallon tank
and the turtle is very very small!

and yes, most defiantly i will raise the water level, but at the moment this is twice the amount of water that was in there, and so i want to get nimrod used to this first! he already is having to learn to use the plants to help him get up for air!

and i got the rock formation at petmsart, there was another one that was cool, but the slopes were wayyyyyyy to steep for this little guy!

ohhh and i put the paper around the sides to help prevent nimrod from constantly bashing into the glass! he is only so small i dont want him to do some damage to himself!!

i think nimrod fulfilled every little kids' dream! he flew! he was at the top of the rock formation, and he just sort of.. walked off of it!
it scared me but he seemed to enjoy it because he went back up and did it again!!!

thanks for everything=]

okay guys/girls, first thing tomorrow morning that gravel is GONE!
i just saw nimrod bitting at it! his mouth is wayyyy to small for a big majority of it, but i dont want to take the chance of him finding one that isnt!
hm.. he seems ot be doing laps around the tank! trying a bite at everything! even the big rock formation!

Is there a water heater and thermometer in there? That binder clip you are using to hold the carrot will also rust, so I would take that out and get a normal veggie clip.

yes there are both a heater and thermometer in there.
the heater is underneath the filter and the thermometer got moved by nimrod to under the basking area.
and i just was going to use that binder clip for a temporaryy veggie clip because at the time the store didnt have any.

but thanks for the concern!=]

Yeah, that rock formation is 'tight,' i wanna get one
for my tank. Im curious about the light set-up. How
many and which lights do u have? I see 3. The metallic
lamp outside of the tank is 'suspect,' it wont be as useful
compared to if the light was placed over-head cuz its filtered
light. I found that the clip-on lights the pet stores sell are more
efficient and durable for reptiles/turts. I have one black light, and
a light that emits uva/uvb rays. I 4got the wattage on both, but their
correct. Well, keep smiling, you got a cute healthy turt to keep ya company.
Peace.

the metalic one is just there for heat, it was mainly for savage, but nimrod seems to be enjoying it so i dont want to take it away just yet.
