I'm really rather fed up with this guy, I'm not set up to take care of him, and though I'm a step up from the girl I confiscated him from, my turtle deserves better than I can give him. If there are any owners in the Boston area who are willing to take care of a paranoid baby about a year old, I'd like to talk with you.

What's the problem with your turtle?

There isn't anything really wrong with him I don't think. His shell is very healthy, and he's quite alert with no trouble swimming or hiding. But I took him from an owner who scared him a lot and didn't clean his little tank enough. Its not so much that there's anything wrong with him, just that I'm not well equipped to take care of him, and he deserves better than I can give him.

You could try putting an ad in craigslist.com under the pets section. It's free and you could screen potential candidates to make sure they have the basic knowledge to take good care of him. And you can do it all through emails until you find the right person.

In the worst case scenario and you can't find anyone to take him, I could take him off your hands, but I really don't have the room for another RES right now (I already have 3 full grown rescues). But I understand your dilemma too and appreciate how you've been trying to help the little guy. Let me know if you don't have any success through the other channels.
