I thought both Sheldon AND Bob were girls? It could be a territorial issue.

Can't be territorial issues since it's a brand new tank to both of them. Unless it's the log that is an issue...but again, it's new to both of them. Nothing that Sheldon had previously is in the new tank. Bob came with nothing.
Sheldon lived in a 30 gallon tank, Bob lived in a bucket (before I got it).
When I brought Bob home, I also had a 100 gallon tank that I put each one in right off the start.
When I got Sheldon, the previous owner assured me, showed me (like I knew what I was looking at), promised me it was a Male...like I really cared...he/she was the only ttl I had.
Bob was classified as a Male all his life by previous owner AND Humane Society. But I said Female when I seen it due to the nails (they were much shorter than Sheldon's).
But after posting here, everyone told me they were both females..lol
Sheldon will mount Bob in both water and on the basking log....Bob will in turn throw Sheldon off. Maybe Sheldon (being a youngster) is confused with what he's supposed to do and with whom?? hehehe
Will they mate if they are "shedding" scutes? Maybe that's why Bob is so fiesty..she's still shedding.

I've never heard of shedding scutes being linked to whether or not a turtle mates.
