How big are your turts (sorry, if you've said it before, I've forgotten)? Mating takes place with the male on top (he typically "tickles" the female's cheeks with his long claws to get her interested, then moves around to the back to mate).
If the shell lengths of your turtles are 4 inches or more (not including the curve) the male will be getting/have really long spiky front claws. His tail will be larger than the females with a broad base. The anal vent will be closer to the tip of the tail than the shell. If they're smaller than 4 inches, it can be difficult to sex them with any reliability.
