I read all the posts on ping pong balls. My turtle has so much fun I didnt think he needed one. He will swim for hours, climb and dive over and over, and climb up the heater cord to try and escape from the tank.

But i bought it for kicks and he doesnt even use it. Waste of 2$. Ping pong balls are for table tennis not turtles.

$2 for a ping pong ball? i found one in my house and threw it in there, they'll move it, but they dont use it, so i dont really think they care, its just a ball, lol. I'm not sure what the parts of the turtle brain are, but i doubt they have a "fun" part.

Depends on the turtle. Some will push them around, some won't look at them. I once put a little floating turtle in my RES's tank, thinking he'd push it around like a ping pong ball. At first, all he'd basically do is halfway swim up to it, then run the other way. Then he just ignored it so I finally took it out. In contrast, he has some rocks in the tank with him. For some reason he has singled out one or two of the less colorful ones and will spend part of each day interacting with them--fluttering his paws, nipping at them, and spinning them around. Move them to another part of the tank and he still will pick them out above all the others and do his thing. Different strokes for different turtles...:)
