Is your tank a 10-gallon one? If so, I'd do a weekly water change. If the filter is small, it will probably need a cleaning as well.

ok, you have 2? then your tank is WAY WAY WAY to small, you NEED a bigger one, or your turtles will not survive, i'm serious, get a bigger tank.

lol, that made me laugh :P:P

it is very hard to get everything perfect, i constantly worry about getting a bigger tank, getting a UVb, everything, this/that, blah, its very hard for me, but once i get everything all settled, i should be able not to worry. I have a tank i'm wondering how much it's going to cost.....she says its 220 gallons :D:D

The thing is, you dont seem worried at all...it seems that getting a bigger tank doesnt need to be done for you. I'm not trying to start anything, but you should be more concerned, the turtles NEED a proper environment to live, if you dont have one, it will just lead to more and more problems, not to mention costs.

in that sentence, i dont see "sinbad isnt cheap" and i never stated you are cheap, i was clearly saying you dont seem very worried about your turtles, i may be totally wrong. She is saying "did they physically get out, and speak to you in english "we love this tank and everything about it""Just because something looks ok, it might not. Incorperates the saying "never judge a book by it's cover" ok, i'll stop now, if you dont want to care about your turtles, lessen their lifespan and deprive them of their natural living habits, go ahead, i'm fine. all i know is that i'm always going to put my turtles first.

Does it matter? i'm trying to get a tank every single chance i get. I know, its hard to find a big tank, and yes i know, it is expensive, its full of confusion. I check craigslist a LOT, like, at least once every 3 hours. I always look for tanks..tanks...tank....I'm obsessed with my turtles, and its not going to stop until i get everything, everything i need for them.

I've never said once in my life you are cheap, i'm saying when we ask you to do something, it just sounds like your just....ok.....and its through the other ear. We're not, well, i'm not asking much, i'm asking that everyone listen to eachother, we only want good advice, and we try and give good advice.

You're right. You asked me if you were cheap and I said no. I also said that as long as you're making sure your turts have everything they need, then it's ok to spend less instead of more as long as it's quality stuff.

Sinbad, your tank really is too small. I recall reading in another thread (please correct me if I'm wrong) that you don't have a uvb light for them yet either.

I had both my 5in res in a 50gal tank not too long ago. Too small by anyone's standards but I knew that when we moved, they'd be getting a bigger tank and I figured they had enough room that they weren't sitting on top of eachother or fighting over space that they'd be fine for another month or two. And they were. But I can tell that they're much more content in their new 125 gallon. They can now chase fish without bumping into everything.

Seriously consider getting a larger tank/rubbermaid container. And a uvb if you don't already have one.
