hey i know this is a turtle forum but i hope that some of you guys have iguanas and if you do i need some help. my friends cousin is giving me an iguana and i haven't said yes or no and i need to know if a iguana is hard to take care of. I've search the web but i think you guys can give me better information. do iguanas need both lights??? and how should the iguana be housed?? I'm trying to learn as much as i can before i say yes to her.

Thanks in advance

I thought about getting one a while back until I read up on what they need. They can get 6ft long and need an enclosure that is 6ft x 4ft x 4ft if I remember correctly. They do need both uva and uvb and their diet is specific. Go to google.com and do a search for "iguana care sheet" and you should get some good info. btw, some of them can have nasty attitudes and do some real damage with their tails.

It would really be good if you went to www.anapsid.org and read some of the information there. You would get a lot of good info on iguanas.
