Could someone please tell me what sex my 4" turtle Chester is by looking at these two pictures?

Do you have a better picture of the front claws? I'm guessing you have a girl, cause from the pictures the claws just don't seem that big....but I could be wrong. Here is my boys:

Here is a kind of blurry picture (sorry) but the claws are small so I think I have a Chesterette. Thanks very much for your reply. :)

I am certainly not an expert, but I would think by his or her size the claws should be noticeably longer if it was a Chester. Also the tail doesn't seem as wide as a boys. Either way...Chester is adorable! I am a very visual person so I like to 'see' what the difference is...here's some sites I googled for ya:

Here is a site that explains the differences:

As well as about 1/2 way down this page it has pictures showing the male/female

Looks like a girl to me. If your turt is right at 4 inches then that could still change. My male has been 4 inches for awhile and I am amazed by his nail growth almost weekly. Seems like the change just started overnight when it happened too.

If you are looking at the posted picture that is not the turtle in question. Are you talking about the one in the link you have to open? What are your reasons for saying male?
