Bubbles popping...as in from the nose or mouth? Symptoms like bubbles and/or mucus from the nose or mouth, wheezing (maybe this is the squeaking noise you hear?), open mouth breathing, frequent yawning, excessive basking, etc. all all possible signs of a respiratory infection...Are your turtles active and eating well?

Aquatic turts will institively hiss when they are frightened. They are expelling the air in their lungs in preperation to "sound" or dive to the bottom of the water to escape or hide. Very stressful for them if they do it when you are holding them. Wheezing, poping, squeking, clicking, chirping are signs of congestion, not good, espeicially in babies....Some adult RES will wheeze slightly when their nose breaks the water, but thats more of a snorkel effect, blowing a small amount of water out of their nose.

Well it's not a chirping sound, or wheezing...it's like he opens his mouth and clamps down..and it says SNAP!!! I guess he's biting at the bubbles made by the filter or something.

Well i dont knwo if i coudl call it clicking..as if it's repeditive. But it's like a shamp, like the sound you get if you snap your fingers...and it only happen once each time I hear it. I assume it's just him snapping at something he thinks is food, but is not. Funny thing, he alwasy does it in the same corner of the tank.
