First of all, I do not blow cig smoke at my turtle, so I dont want to her anything like "why do you smoke in front of your turtle?" lines. Hehe.

I just want to share a peculiar behavior that my turt displays when I smoke while watching him in his tank. He follows that ciagrette wherever it is, trying to get to it like a little turtle junkie. I can tell that his focus is on the cigarette stick and not at me.

As turtles beg for food a lot, I think he views the cigarette stick as food and wants to get at it. He usually come up to his basking rock to get a better view of the cigarette stick, and will just stare at it untill I put it out.

Funny little behavior. thought I'd just share.

He recognizes you as a food source is all. Personally, I won't smoke that close to the tanks.
