today in science class we weree learning about the different animals the traveled in the space shuttle. i was wondering.. did they evr take turtles up with them? im curious.

From a quick Google search on this subject I found that Tortoises have been to space and were in fact the first animal into "deep space". Turtles however have not yet been to space. Not sure why as they have sent both Frogs and Newts which are somewhat similar to turtles. Anyways you can find the whole list of animals at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animals_in_space
