Newest Issue, and I'm sorry to ask so many questions.

Leith, 6 1/2 x 4inches

I let him out of the tank last night to roam around and he doesn't seem to want to go back in. He is hiding under my tv stand, he's perfectly safe, but he hissed when I tried to pick him up.

He's only hissed once or twice and i undersatnd how I may have appeared threatening. We also have an understanding about when he wants to get back in... but this time, he hasn't wanted to go back in for over a day.

I know he can live out sideof hte water, and he has few places to hide, but is there a point when I should force him back into the tank??

Go ahead and put him back in. He'll dehydrate if he's out of water too long and also he can't eat. He's probably hissing because he doesn't want to be picked up not because he doesn't want back in his tank.

Just pick him up gently.

Yeah, just remember, when it all comes down to it, you're the owner (or parent if you refer to yourself that way), not the turtle, :P .

lol, unlike children, I wouldn't go that far into discipline, since turtles are smaller, and get freaked out a lot more, ;)
