My roommate got me two Chinatown RES hatchlings for Christmas and, even though I tried to take good care of them, Pinky and the Brain both died. I'm not financially committed enough to get another RES - even though I have all of the equipment for a baby, they do grow. Plus, it's hard taking care of a turtle as a college student (taking it home over breaks), and I don't want to buy any more from Chinatown and encourage that illegal trade. The turtles they legally sell are too big.
So where should I sell the turtle supplies? Do you think if I put together a RES starter kit up on eBay people would buy it? The only problem is that some of it's used - like I've opened the food, and I used the Sulfa Dip once.
What I have:
- 10 gallon tank with thermometer stuck on the side (and a few melted parts of the plastic rim on the top where I absent-mindedly left the heat lamp too close -_-; )
- 10 gallon water tank heat
-20 gallon Whisper filter
-3 filter bags
-1 opened container of adult food (hardly used)
-1 opened container of baby turtle food (slightly used)
-vitamin supplement, new
-calcium supplement, new
-siphon
-Sulfa Dip (used once)
-UVB light
-UVA/Heat light bulb, new
-floating turtle dock
-tank cleaner (those things you wipe algae off the sides with), new
-water conditioner, hardly used
The only thing missing is a lamp to put the UVA light in. I have to keep mine because it's my desk lamp. Do you think that's sell-able, even with the opened food and Sulfa Dip? Should I sell things separately? eBay? Craig's List? Do any of you know anybody who's thinking about getting a baby turtle and needs supplies?
Help?
