Today as i was watching my turtle's swim, i decided to give them some apple as a treat. I walk into my room with a couple of thin sliced apple shreds in my hand. I sit down by the tank and hold up the apple slices with my fingers, all is going good, they love their treat! But then, my cell phone rings, i take it out of my pocket and i start talking. A minute into the convorsation i completely forgot i was even feeding my turtle's, my hand was still in the tank. All of a sudden i felt a strong pinch, one of my turtle's bit me and even though it didnt realy hurt, i freaked out and my first reaction was to quickly draw my hand back, so as i quickly drew my hand back, i realized that i had sent a poor turtle flying across my room! Luckily my turtle landed in a pile of dirty clothes sitting in my bed. I stayed quite and just looked at him from across my room, he looked back at me almost like he was saying (You idiot..) . I checked my turtle for any cracks, dents etc. And i found nothing, he's still as active as can be (He's even begging for food right as i am typing this) . But whoa, what a scary experience, i cant stop thinking..imagine if he would have hit a wall?! I'm and idiot :?

thank goodness for piles of dirty clothes!

So now your turtle has been flying! He will have tales to tell his tank buddies.

Glad he's ok!

As scary as that experience is for the turtle, all I could do was chuckle because I think we have all had those kinds of moments as turtle-owners....

If it's not one thing, it's another......

Your turt must have thought: "What in the heck was THAT?" It sounds so funny, only because he landed in a soft pile of clothes. I can't hand feed my Sheba anymore, she'll get my fingers now (not intentionally). Glad he's ok. you know that turtle told his turtle buddies about his experience when he got back in the tank......haha

this part made laugh (sorry) it's so funny the personality that comes out of our turtles looks.

whenever i do anything with the turtles, water change, feeding, etc. i won't answer my phone. in the rare occasions i do answer my phone, i tell them to call back at a set amount of time. i don't like being on the phone w/ the turts cuz they require my undivided attention. plus i'm paranoid about the whole clumsy me dropping it into the water.

i'm glad your little one's okay! that must have been quite an experience for him.
