Omg best comment ever.

How often do you feed them?
I have never seen anything like you, Pizza, has described, and hopefully never do. Your turtles seem to hate your fingers.. Ever try using gloves?

I feed my turtles every 2-3 days, since they're all too fat, they all have huge sagging fat bags in front of their rear legs, and when they withdraw into their shells, fat pops out the front next to their heads.

Well I tried using gloves, but they see the gloves as food as well and chase them, maybe it's just the color. Well they follow anything near the tank or above them, and any new foreign object that is placed in there, they go for a bite to see if it's food. After I made my own turtle basking platform and placed it into their tank, they first came up to it and tried to eat it before letting go, :P

I guess :D , today (or Saturday, from the time of this post) I did a full cleaning on my filter and tank and the water was pure, except for one scute that was shed in there while I poured in buckets of tap water, the scute was broken into many smaller bits in minutes, and my turtles ate up that scute, O.o .

Hahah...I may have the same case as you do Pizza. Although mine is a bit more sly. She swims to my hand nonchalantly and sneaks a bit at my fingers. It doesn't hurt all that much since she lets go immediately but she's persistent and comes back for more. She also follows my finger outside the tank.

I often play with her by using my fingers as bait and dodging her bite. My wife hates me doing this but i find it amusing and harmless. It also makes her exercise from the swimming. I'd probably stop when she gets bigger. She's about 4" now and I have a lot of room to move my hand in the tank.

It's crazy. One of my turtles was very agressive tonight when I cleaned her tank and handled her. It's just crazy. She was trying to reach my fingers with the mouth open. And they are not babies anymore.

Whenever my turtles bite I put my finger on it's nose and push down lighty, they let go, if not then I do it while they are underwater.

My turtles used to try and attack my fingers whenever I did anything in or near their tank. The biggest one is 7" so I always had to move quickly and stay alert. After a few weeks of feedings and occasional gentle handling, they no longer seem interested in attacking and seem more like they are just curious if I'm going to feed them some more.

I really cant believe everyones turts bite them that hard and keep biting... karlyn has bit my fingers a couple times, she thought it was tuna because I had dropped the piece that was in my fingers and she went for it anyways.. lol... and she immediately let go, she didnt continue to try to eat it anymore! And it didnt hurt at all! It surprised me a little bit... Is it because I give her cuttlebone, so her "beak" isnt as sharp as other turtles that have drawn blood? jenaro, you give your turts cuttlebone and they drew blood.. so is it bad that her "beak" isnt sharp?

Cuttlebone does help trim the beak a bit.

I think it depends on the state of mind when they are biting. I've seen both my RES usually make passive bites at me and at each other, but they've also made real aggressive bites on occasion. I'm glad Karlyn hasn't bitten you hard (yet) :D
