The article in reptiles magazine stated she had the insurance agent out and they were filling out forms, the son....young kid....came out with a three foot snake, insurance agent flips and leaves. Homeowners get a call next day stating they would cancel the policy because they have a dangerous animal and they would end up paying for it. Home owners shop around and find the same thing, end up saying they got rid of the snake, hiding it under a bed in a bag while the adjuster comes out....just to keep insurance. Never mind the other snake hiding under a sheet in it's cage in the living room!
Best advice...watch who you tell what you have! Sometimes it's better to keep quiet. I have had tons of teenagers here when the kids tell their friends about the zoo, we now keep our mouths shut and have a noone in the backyard policy with locking gates and high fencing.
