i wrote in on google to do some research on a yellow bellied slider(trachemys scripta, scripta) on google images.
then i saw a turt that looked JUST LIKE MINE and under the picture i saw the words yellow-bellied scooter.
yellow plastrome and a black shell at the top that had, what looked like three flames on the side of the shell.
it had a yellow stripe going down the back of the head and three stripes on the side of head.
JUST LIKE MINE!
is there such thing as a yellow bellied scooter?
but it allso said that it was in the same familly as the trachemys scripta, scripta. (yellow bellied slider).
the name of the turtle in the pic is called L.T.
verry cute!
anyone?

I think they just interchange the name slider and scooter. The scientific name is the best way to tell which animal they're talking about. Common names are often misused or misleading.

hahaha.
if you go onto google.co.uk images and tipe in yellow bellied scooter, you will see the pic of L.T, a turtle with three red flames on the side of shell and 3 yellow stripes down the side of head and allso one yellow stripe down the back of head.
s/he is a beuty and looks just like mine!
(p.s. still, that name puts me off what type of turt i have.)
does anyone know what type it deffinately is?
i will allways be unsure about the species until someone tells me.
it would be a great help!
cheers!

Whoa, those red flame patterns are really cool. Does yours have that too? They say it is the Trachemys scripta scripta which is the same as a Yellow Bellied Slider.
