The baby dragons are very skittish and usually try to flee when handled (their instinct is to avoid being eaten at all costs). But as they mature to adult hood (around 1 year old) they calm down a lot and can be very friendly if handled properly. They're one of the more forgiving reptiles in that they can survive temporary "mistakes" in husbandry quite well.
