If anyone remembers my two turtles Sheila and Sparky and read the message in the urgent care forum, you must think I'm a really careless owner. Two turtles living in a filterless, heatless and very cold unprotected cheap tank. SORry...

As I said though, I was going to buy everything I could to make my turtles happy and I did so, they have lighting, a heater, lots of different types of food and everything else a regular turtle needs. The bad part though is that Sheila died.... She ate too much(pyramiding). She hogged up all the food when I was feeding her correctly and variably(if thats a word).

I decided to get two more turtles from some chinese lady who I felt was abusing of the turtles( SHE HAD like TWENTY TURTLES IN A QUART TANK :( ) I got them in ggod condition to accompany Sparky. At least they're in a better home now.

So all this info was to inform everyone that my turtles are ok now and tthat I've taken up more responsibility for em. I'll post pictures of em some other day.

Note. If you ever see abuse of a turtle try to take him/her away from theabusive owners or call the police. People think its nothing but it is. Also, please inform people that turtles do need filters and etc. Many seem to think that they don't need space or anything and make it seem like abuse to another.

Have fun with your turts!

The best thing to do when you see people like that selling turtles in realy disgusting inhumane conditions is to walk away..you can try calling the animal police, but they most likely wont take the matter seriously.

By buying the turtles from the chinese lady you gave her 10$ or more for her to buy more turtles, so that they can be treated the same way yours were treated..your sleeping with the enemy.

I know it hurts knowing that other than trying to educate the vendor, or calling the authorities - there is not much you can do. We as turtle owners have to boycot vendors/petshops like those, its up to us to spread the word to others..so they could do the same, and hopefully this cruel cycle will end..for good, :(

Thats good news about your turtles though..:) Pictures are always great..
