I just rented a DVD from Netflix called "Nature: Reptiles" from PBS and it has 2 episodes, "Alligators & Crocodiles" and "Turtles & Tortoises". It was really fascinating! They showed some terrapins (aquatic turtles) that would join together in taking down a wading bird and begin eating it like a school of pirhana's. It was a little creepy but I never thought of our little guys as being that kind of predator before. There was a lot of other really cool stuff on there too. I highly recommend it!

Wonder if it was the show that was on PBS recently.

A bit OT, but

On Animal Planet / Jun 06, 9:00 am:

Backyard Habitat
Painted Turtles and Green Frogs
TV-G, CC

A New Jersey tree farm becomes an oasis for painted turtles and green frogs with the creation of healthy wetlands, including food, water, shelter, and a place for wildlife to raise young. A turtle rehabilitator shares his experience.

Sounds pretty interesting.

I still have the ER vet thing with the gravid turtle on tape. I'm looking to convert it to digital video, but my friend hasn't returned my converter yet.

Heh, I got rid of digital cable a few years ago. It was too expensive for 300 channels of the same garbage. Now I only pay $12/month for 20 channels of garbage. :D I do miss Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel though, but now i can just rent the shows that I really like.
