Like any other morning I wake up and roll out of bed to find my larger turtle (3.5 inches) up early begging for food, splashing like he's trying to lift himself out of the water... only this time my long handled tank scrubber was halfway submerged in the water and the little turtle (2 inches) was no where to be seen. I tore apart my room and couldn't find her- All doors were closed all night so I assumed she would still be inside. I began searching the living room and bathroom, then went through my entire room again, and eventually found her sleeping under a lazy-boy in the living room about an hour and a half later.

So their genius plan was:

Somehow managed to knock the scrubber into the tank, manage to climb up it, jump off of the top of the tank, make their way across my room, wedge themselves under the door, walk down the hall and across the living room, and wedge themselves firmly between the floor and a 150 pound lazy-boy... and proceed to fall asleep.

The only reason Helmholtz was still in there is he's too big and wild to balance on the scrubber, while the smaller one is soo ninja it actually watches me watching it, and runs when I look away.

I think my turtles are evil geniuses.

Could be. :) Glad you found him relatively soon and without a lot of trauma. :)

When I was moving into my new apartment the pets were the last to go, and on the second day when I went home to bring Serra, I found out she had crawled out!!
I was panicking REALLY badly. My mom, sis and I went to search the entire floor. After 15 min my sister found her behind the toilet in the washroom, dusty, but ok.

I am EXTREMELY relieved. On the way from her tank to the washroom it's the stairs and there is a steep drop that could have killed her if she had fallen.

I'm so glad Serra's ok.
