almost had a heart attack!

after i gave nimrod his medicine for the night, i put him back on his platform where he was before i picked him up, and then i turned around to put the medicine on the shelf, and when i turned back around i saw nimrod falling into the water! and then scrambling to get back up on the platform.

ofcourse i picked him up and put him as far back on the platform as i could, but man, his eyes werent open at the time.. and he was already a little stressed from his medicine time, and his one eye is still swollen.

akdjf;aklsjfd
i think my stomach is in my throat.
and my heart is racing like non other.
i know it doesnt sound like something to be scared about..
but believe me, i was horrified

and by the wayyyyy
nimrod is doing better.
his poor little eye is still swollen, but the other eye is open, and he is moving around a little. not in the water yet.. but a little here and there on his platform. he seems to favor the corners.
five more days will tell if he is going to make it or not =/

even if in 5 days he is not better, it doesnt mean that he wont make it..as long as he is alive, he has a chance. I personally will not give up.

Little things like 'him moving a little more' and him having 'one of his eyes open' is a good sign..obviously if he is getting worse, these things would not happen. He is getting better..he's still putting up a fight, and you have to keep fighting this, along side him..forget what the vet said about him probably not making it, there have been turtles in worse conditions who have bounced back to health. These things take time..you just have to never give up on them :D

im not planing on giving up on him.
but in a few days the vitamin A capsules will be all gone.
but since he is getting better, should i go get more of it?
i dont want to over-do it for him, so i dont think i will.

How much vitamin A were you giving him and for how long? If you can get him to eat some foods high in beta carotene (pumpkin, carrots, squash, dandelions, for example, he could make his own Vitamin A and you wouldn't have to worry about him getting too much.,

its a 1 part vitamin a and 10 parts water dilution.
i have been giving him .05 CC's everynight for 11 nights, so i have three more nights of it left.
and i have been giving him some baby food.. carrots.. but he just spits it out or keeps it in his mouth until it dries out.

okay.
out of vitamin a =/

trying to get him to eat the baby food now though.
his swollen eye looks as if it is sealed shut.
so i took a q-tip and i put his eye drop solution on it and just gently went over the swollen eye to see if that would help him any.
but it didnt seem to do much.

but its bothering him and he wont stop scratching at it.
and he just dove into the water, and all he is doing is scratching at his eye.
=/
i dont know what to do

Maybe you can phone the vet and ask him about it?

so i have to wait until monday =/

Does he eat this in water or out of water? RES need to be in water for them to eat...Like the water level has to be up to his shell.

yeah.
but what he doesnt spit out, he keeps in his mouth,
and then goes back up on his dock =/
if i put him in a seperate container he starts to freak out and runs into the walls of the container.

i dont know why he does this.
he just doesnt feel like spitting it out, or he wants to eat it.

and when i wake him up, to give him his medicine, he opens his mouth real big, as if he is yelling at me, attempting to bite me, or yawning
so i can see inside his mouth
and his natural mouth color isnt orange.
its not always orange, so i know that either he spit it all out, or he swallowed it, but im pretty sure he hasnt eaten a whole lot of it.
