Alright so I just got home from work and still no replies from anyone that I contacted that can do somthing about this. I don't want to give up but I have been at it since Friday. I hope with tomorrow being Monday someone replies to me. And I checked if you have the direct link you can still see the one video (link on pg 4 in here) but I didn't save the other links. So I hope that "Steve" has them saved well. She may have deleted them or she may have just set them to private.

if thats the case than i hope steve has ssaved the vidoes nice and well.
we will not let her get away with this.
she is trying to make things difficalt by changing her profile.
she says she is in her 60s and she is possibly deleting the vids as we speak.
does anybody know when or if we can post the vid and a letter(attached)
to an animal abuse webpage based on where the girl is living?

I sent the video link to PETA, too, and got a response. I'm sure they also saved the videos, as this is what they do.

The PETA chick had some questions. Who saw this girl's profile BEFORE she set it to private? Anyone? Name? City? She wants to report it to the jurisdiction (which, I know, you guys have been talking about...)

Honeylynn, you said you dialogued with the videographer. So, the profile is the videographers? If not, any info on that person??

The ASPCA is great, but I feel like they are always so overwhelmed. Thus the reason I contacted PETA. They're nothing if not militant. :)

Yikes! Those guys scare me. But I guess if anyone can hunt this person down, they will.

This girl claims to have only shot the videos and that it's her friend's turtle, but she's in one of the videos drinking the ice water while the turtle is in it. I have a feeling that it is hers and she's just trying to get out of the line of fire.

I was the one who found the video, but even then her page was private and she didn't have a real name visible, the only thing was she said she is from Arkansas.

I guess the only real way to identify her is to find the email address that she signed on to MySpace with. Then an internet sleuth is going to have to try to trace it from there. I guess that's where the FBI comes in. They have an Internet Crime Complaint Center that handles this sort of thing.

Here's a link to their site...
http://www.ic3.gov/

Since Steve has the actual videos downloaded onto his hard drive (key evidence), maybe he could file the official complaint. I think at least one of the video links to her MySpace account is still working also, so that should be provided as well. Hopefully they will take this seriously enough to do something about it. But if they are backlogged with child abuse internet crimes, those will likely take priority (for obvious reasons). Face it, we live in a sick world with some extremely sick people.

i talked to the cops at school. they say that with the evidence that has been presented, a lawyer would easily be able to get her off of the hook. if not, then she would be given a fine and give up all animals she has. If this case acutally will be dealt with by anyone (which i highly doubt due to more pressing things) I hope to god the jury (or whoever desiced her verdict) wont just let her go with her saying "well, i didnt know that this would hurt it." If the turtle is still alive after this whole thing then we might have won, but she would not have gotten what she deserves. i am sorry, but anyone who can even think to be so creul to an animal that is
1: defenseless
2: cornered
3: young
Should have done onto them as they did on the animal. The turtle cannot run away since it is in a cage, It cannot hold down on somthing to keep from being picked up. It also is just too young. The only thing i can think of that is fair for her is to be put in a little box for about 8 months (or however old the turtle is) and have the exact same things done to her! This reminds me of how everyone here thinks of their turtles as their "babies"... Would you dunk your baby in freezing water?
This has gone too far. There MUST be somthing done about all this. I am all for the idea of Pet turtles but i think that it should be VERY limited since soo many people cant or wont treat them properly. My teacher (as meantioned in one of my toher post) and my mom kept their turtles in the death cages: little room for water and a tiny island for them to stay on. There are also the people selling the poor babies in a 10 gallon tank with 30 or 40 in the freaking thing. even som people on here buy them tanks that are too small just to find out that their money wasnt well spent at all! Our voice must be heard to stop this abuse. However, the only thing i can conclude to do about this is to limit the number of the pets that are soo dificult to keep. Maybe we can just set it up so that people who want to buy a turtle can do so through us somehow...
Im terriby sorry if people think that i am ranting on this, but i think that this little section has just pushed cruelty over the limits. If you dont agree with what i have to say or wish to add somthing, please PM me. I hope that maybe some of us volunteers could help out with this. My mom was part of this thing called ABRL (american Bouvier Rescue League) that helped saved a certain breed of dogs. if we could do somthing like this with turtles (like ATRG: American Turtle Rescue Group) and make life better for them.

well, who knows, it may get more attention than you think. long shot, i understand, but you never know.

the fact that she's torturing this poor baby animal and shows no remorse is a red flag. it's not a cute game, it's considered psychotic behaviour. torturing small animals is actually where a lot of serial killers get their start. she may be given a proverbial slap on the wrist, i wouldn't doubt that, but it's also likely they'll make her do therapy as well. hopefully they won't put her on antidepressants, that just tends to make the problems worse (see: eric harris)

Actually, that's what it says on the ASPCA web site regarding kids and cruelty to animals. There's a strong likelihood that kids who do such things will end up willfully harming humans as well.
