I think if we had known or thought that Serra was a boy all along, and Kevin's narrations were geared more towards a boy than a girl, it would have been just as cute and endearing. The problem is that we all got so used to Serra being referred to as "she" and thinking of her cuteness in the context of a girl. Kevin did such a nice job of anthropomorphizing Serra that we had such a vivid image of her as a girl too. That's what makes it somewhat difficult to shift that image now to a boy. So hang on to all that cuteness in your subconcious image of Serra except delete the "girl" aspect and replace it with either a neutral or a "boy" image. Does that make sense?

He's going to be a man, dangit! Suck it up and get used to it! ha ha!
