I got one of my turtles in a kiosk at the mall. He seemed happy and healthy. The female, my mom brought home no less than a week later from a pet shop 'cause she thought Daemon needed some company.

So I'd have to vote 'Other' -- two choices.

Got my turtle as a gift but she was bought at a mall stand.

I forgot to ask....malls do not require the four inch law? Why wouldnt they? I thought it was an everywhere law.

It is the law everywhere... well in the US. Some how they get around it. By a "tank" (death bowl) get a free turtle or they just blatantly ignore it.

I got mine from Petland as a hatchling. Now they don't carry them anymore......but they were selling them for at least 4 years that I know of. I just assumed there wasn't a 4" law in Flordia.

One came from a lady's pond (she couldn't keep them outside for the winter so she gave her tttls up for "adoption")
and the other came from the Humane Society...yep, believe it or not, they do have more than just cats and dogs there..

I'm not sure, mine was a christmas present. Don't know where it came from exactly. Probably a mall or pet store... I'll ask my gf when she comes home.

i got mine in south carolina on vacation. both were very small, but are doing great now. they were a little sick when i brought them home, but got better after a few weeks of not being in horrible conditions. i can't believe how they keep them sometimes. but its good that there are so many people to give some of them good homes.

I bought mine from a pet store, but there's no 4 inch law here, so I voted under mall stand.

I, unfortunately, bought mine from a tourist shop called "Wings" in Myrtle Beach. And I mean unfortunately because I bought from that sort of shop, not because I don't love Dr. Jam.

When I asked about care for the res, the man said I could keep him in the carrying case and just feed him a pellet a day. WHAT?!? It's insane. A friend of mine bought one that day as well but sadly it didn't live very long.
