I find that a good way to tell gender is if your turtle gets pregnant and lays eggs, more than likely it is female. Note: Doesn't work with seahorses. lol

I wish I knew for my little turtles too. I have three, and i am just going to have to wait and see if they are boys or girls. If they are boys, I hope they don't fight, but if they do, I will be getting 3 enclosures. If they are all girls it means a 400 gallon tank, if they are a combo, which is likely, who knows? I like to plan ahead, but in this scenario it is almost impossible. I really like the idea of building an indoor pond, but I may need three. Nicole

That would be crazy if you would need three indoor ponds, but I like the idea too... and heck, we love our baby turtles! anything to make them happy! lol I can't wait till Squirtle is 4 inches so i can know if its boy/girl.. ahhh that's like a year of waiting.
