I like to put a pencil or pen against the glass of the tank, and my turltes will try and bite it
it is really funny! they try so hard to eat it. THey go for the red eraser tip on the end of pencil as well

But seeing something they think is good to eat and not being able to get at it makes them frustrated. They keep trying and trying and can't get it. Their frustration will turn to irritation. It's like if you could see something you really want but it's always just out of reach and you keep trying and trying to get it but can't.

Doing that those games with them I think just makes them more frustrated and they become more agressive the next time you try to interact with them

i think if you were doing it with food, then giving it to them, it would be different.
like safdar.
i just think that teasing them is just another way to get them stressed out.

I don't see the point in being mean to an animal just because you can. I mean you aren't hurting it physically or anything, but you are purposefully teasing your pet. I don't see the point of getting such an expensive animal and not using the best care you can. Sorry, I don't mean any offense, this is just something I'm really passionate about.

I'm sure after the turtle is teased by the eraser on the outside of the tank that is moving, you feed him or her some real food by putting it INSIDE the tank. If you do not, then you should start....NOW.
