i have a two inch res, that seems to go after his reflection at bottom of tank. when i put towels over the sides no problem. Any one ever noticed this with thier res?

hmmm I'm not sure whether they can see their reflections when they're actually in the tank. Try looking into the tank from the top.

She might just be foraging for food. :D

My turtle used to do that. He would just sort of swim towards the wall, like he thought if he swam fast enough, he'd make it through. After he kept doing it for a while, I just put up one of those aquarium decoration things around the back three walls. He hasn't done it since.

mine does that he swims really fast with his head on the bottom of the tank it is so funny

I think this a ritual for everyturtle
I doubt they the relfection all the see is your room and some invisible wall blocking the escape

yea my little guy does that at the front of the glass, it seems like he sees me, and wants to attack me :|
