I was watching animal Planet when a commercial came on. They were showing alot of pics of animals when they showed a 2 headed RES. I've seen a 2 headed turtle in Homasassa Springs FL and my family used to own a two headed cow. I was just wondering how often this happens and what happens to make them have two heads. I thought it was when two eggs become one, but i wasn't quite sure. :)

it's probably something like that. Think conjoined twins. I saw a two headed turt on CNN the other day and one head yawned..so cute.

It actually isn't all that uncommon. Unfortunately, the turtle will most likely have a shortened life.

I bet since it has two heads it has two brains. I wonder what it's inside anatomy looks like. Some shared organs and maybe doubles.

Very Interesting!

Looks like something from the Simpsons, like the three headed puffer fish.

I would take them in, however my hands are kinda full right now. But TurtlePimp would take good care until they do find a new home.
And look at that yolk sac
The shell looks a little weird to me, or is that normal for a hatchling?

What I want to know is do you still feed the amount that fits on the head if it were hollow. and if you do, which head, or both heads.

Man the complications, best to just stick one headed turtles i think.

Each head is an individual, they can both eat and see in their choice of direction, same with walking, only by cooperating can they walk right. I saw a show on Animal Planet about them, the two headed turtle walks kinda funny sometimes because each head controls one side of the turtle. :D

So would you have to feed them twice, or just once like that?
