:) I thought it would be interesting to see what percentage of different sizes of turtles we have. If you have more than one turtle, answer for the largest one you have. I haven't come across any posts yet where people say they have a fully grown RES, like 9 - 12 inches.

Koopa is 2 inches at around 5 months old. He was a little over 1.25 when we got him in June. :)

Sheba is 5" now, and not yet 2 years old. I know she grew too fast, and started that "pyramiding" thing on her scutes (which I didn't know what that was until this forum). I've cut back on protein and am giving her more veggies. She resists veggies, except for carrots and now is doing well eating red leaf lettuce.

Tilly, my RES, is just about 6.5 inches (SCL). He's just about three and a half years old. (Fully-grown males are smaller than 9-12 inch adult females, but I think Tilly has a bit more growing to do.)

They seem to be growing rather fast. Was it a year ago that you got them? Or you assume they are a year old? How big were they when you first brought them home?

No one can be sure unless you know the hatching date of the turtles.
4-5 inches a year is not good and can cause health problems such as organ failures, prime organs to fail are the liver and kidneys.
How much are you feeding them, what are you feeding them?

theur main diet is repto min or wardleys turtle pellets. they used to get nightcrawlers but i think i was feeding them too many so i cut down alot on those. my biggest one will ot eat leafy greens or any veggies. my 5 1/2" turt loves peas, corn, and sometimes carrots. i try romane lettuce and other aquatic plants but they just won't eat much of them.

I would limit the amount of peas given and completely stop offering corn.
How often do you feed the pellets? They should be getting the amount that will fit inside their head, 2 or 3 times a week.
Even if they are not interested in the veggies, keep offering and large varieties of them Have you tried any aquatic plants?

birdlady, 2 years was when you first got Sheldon? How big was he then?
What are you feeding them and how much?
Bob on the other hand has obviously been with you for a long time. Can you tell is he is a guy or a girl (just checking)
If he's a guy (which I assuming) he should be at about 8-9 inches by now. How much and what are you feeding him?

How are both of their habitats? What are the temepratures?
