I was wanting to know if you can put another slider in. I have had shelly for about 4 years and she has been by her self all this time. I just don't want to get another one and they hurt each other. She lookd bord and lonely.

you can, but remember, if you buy another one, your costs will literally double.

Turtles aren't really social creatures. As ellman said, your costs nearly double when you add another turtle. You have to keep in mind that you'd have to have an enclosure that will fit 2 turtles and when they get to be adults, that's a significant size. As you mentioned you also have to be concerned with how they get along. You could end up with 2 enclosures. Another concern will be the size difference. You'd have to find a turtle that is close to the size of yours because putting a baby in with a 4 yr old could be asking for all sorts of problems.

btw, some of this I learned first hand.. lol I did an impulse buy of 3 turtles, one for each grandchild. I ended up giving one to my daughter and now have only 2. The cost of upgrades is tremendous. So, just some things to think about. :)

throw some feeder fish in there for her to chase if you think she's bored. They'll keep her busy for a while :-)
