Make sure you have all the important stuff before worrying about the decorations.. and then take a look at the gallery for how some here have decorated their tank. I used to be all for the most natural looking tank, trying to mimic nature, but that soon got to be a true pain, all the rocks and the "stuff" that collects in there and the "decorations" that took up valuable swimming space.
As I said, just take care of the essentials first
