My friend's mom recieved a musk turtle a few days ago from a lady that found it off the road. She currently has it in a small container and she offered it to me. It's a wild turtle, so I considered the optionbecause of that. Should I take it, or should it be released in the wild?

Are musk turtles native in your area? That's one thing to consider in releasing him. If they are and he appears healthy, I would try to find an area of their native habitat to release him in, if he is truly a wild turtle. If he's not native to your area and a released pet, you might want to keep him.

The musk turtle is a hatchling so I think it's a wild turtle. I decided to let him be released.

If he was found relatively close to where you are, try to find out the exact location and take him back to the area and release him in a safe spot.
