Okay I have a strange question: Can you cut a male turtle's front nails, and not hurt him?

I am not planning on doing this to my male, because I don't like to handle him too much, for the simple fact that he doesn't like, but I was just wondering if it was possible or not?

It's possible but in my opinion, not worth the risk. There are no turtle manicurists in the wild and they get along fine.

You'd risk infection and cutting a vein that runs in the nails from what I've heard. I wouldn't risk it either.

I am not willing to do it... It was just something that popped into my head when I was attempting to cut my dog's nails... Thanks for your replies...

I think that's so funny...a Turtle Manicurist in the wild....

The long nails on males are a secondary sex characteristic and should be left alone. (My RES has really long yellow nails and I think they're kind of nice to look at). :)
