I'm curious about Speedy, I've seen that a lot. (Napoleon was named Speedy by his last owners.)

I've seen Flash mentioned, but don't recall Turbo. None of mine has either name, but I do have a painted who's named Scute (very unimaginative) for the extra scute he has on his carapace. :)

You can't really say they are unimaginative, If its unique to his own way then its a great name! :D

ya i named my turtle speedy. however it was for another reason:
i always that Speedy Gonzales was the koolest (ANDILE ANDILE ARRIBA ARRIBA!!!!). so when i saw my first turtle in the water just zoomin around (i mean GEEZ arent these things supposed to be slow as ever?) and then my other one, Ricochet. thats just cause he(turns out shes a he. *sigh no baby turtles) would go one direction in the water and "bounce" off the side and go a completely differnt direction. now they are both lazy are not as fun to watch.
At my school tho, the biology teacher has one named tiny. it camr from the fact that one of the kids on the softball team found eggs on summer vacation: all but one smashed from some jerk kids. they thought they were snake eggs so she got a terarium for snakes that cost her a bunch of money. well the egg did hatch and to her surprise she found a turtle the size of a nikel. well since she knew by the shell that it was an aquatic turtle and new that s/he would be too hard to keep after all this money was spent on a cage. The teacher thought that she would be able to keep it in the class and is going to for a while. Now she wants to give her away cause she can afford her and has too muh to do. well the main point of this is the name TINY!!!!

(btw if anyone is willing to come to Raleigh, North Carolina to pick up a female RES about 4 or 5 inches long, please reach me at stormhelton@bellsouth.net or my IM :Mr. Alabasta)
THANKS!!!!

heh, when i was 18 i was driving home from the city and just about ran over a turtle. i turned around and took it home (i didn't know better). i assume it was a she. anyways, she went through my room pretty fast for what i had heard about turtles, so i named it ''speedy gonzales." gave her some food and let her go out in the park by my house.

4lancer4, "Scute" is a fairly common name. I usually put more thinking into the name I give a turtle, but with the extra scute he has, the name just fit. :)
