Other Turtle Discussion :: update on my tiny little babies...and...

some of you might recall the thread i posted a week ago about the little 1" RES that someone left in front of the pet store i work at.

well, both are doing very well, i finally got the little to eat. he has turned out to be a little pig!!

my little sister has fallen in love with them and, after i had a serious conversation with her to be sure that she can handle the responsibility (she's 14), she's keeping them.
yesterday we went out and bought a 20gal tank, and a bunch of other stuff (basking spot, lamp, fake plants, etc..) and she now has it set up in her room. the little guys seem to love all the space they have. (there's about 12 or so gal. in there)

also, my little sister will be joining this forum so she can learn everything she can about them without it seeming like i'm lecturing her. so please help her out as much as you can.


but anyway, i just wanted to update you guys on the babies since your advice helped me so much.

P.S.

Did you make sure she can handle unexpected vet visits/costs? 14 is pretty young.

i'll most likely be the one covering vet costs and visits. seeing as how she has no job and no transportaion other than our parents and me. i still live at home so if anything happens i'm here to deal with it.
