Ok this is a very goofy question but I am very confused. I think that both of my turtles are girls. They look about the same one is just a little smaller than the other. When we got them the lady told me one was a girl and one was a boy(she also said they would not get bigger than a silver dollar and a 20 gallon tank would be fine for both). They are 3 years old I have had them since they were hatchlings. THey are in a 120 gallon tank. The last couple of days Maxey has been humping Shelley. I mean really going at it they tail flipping and I swear I had to look because I thought something came out of her tail but can not be sure of this. Is this normal behavior. They are usually always together and have to be touching. Even when they have issues it usually is just a slap or nip and everything is fine and Shelley sits on Maxs back. They are always touching. If I take one out of the tank whoever is left is very upset and when they go back in they swim over to each other and have to check the other out. Could I have a male and not know it?
