Other Turtle Discussion :: YAY, NO MORE GRAVELL!

Non-care related topics here.

Post Posted: Sun Apr 15, 2007 7:23 am   YAY, NO MORE GRAVELL!

after all the topics i have seen about turtles eating the gravell and becoming verry sick, i had decided to clean out my turtle tank and get rid of all the gravell.
it was a verry tough job and there was a lot of things to do.
it feels good to know that they will never eat gravell....EVER!

so i went out and searched for river stones, not too big and not too small.
they love thier new stones and it is allways great to change thier tank features so my turts wont get bored!

It's much easier to keep clean as well.

yea i need to get a siphon to get all the waste out, and i think the tank will look a little more natural, and the turtles will have some fun.

Have any of your turtles started flirting with any of the rocks yet? :D

Haha I keep hoping Napoleon will do that, when we go to my aunt's camp this summer I'm going to look for some rocks that look like him! And I agree, it's much easier to keep clean with a clear bottom, I have river rocks in Napoleon's tank but nothing in Hercules' and it's amazing how much those few rocks trap.
