I have had my RES for about 3 days now and have been on the site and at the store more than watching my new friend. I think I finally have a set up he likes. He seems so much better after last night. We had to change his basking area like threee times because he wasn't able to get up there. I already know my RES is a male from looking at pictures. His nails are really dominate. I even went back to the pet store to compare. This guy has monster claws!

I seem to be doing well now, but still do not have a name . . . We have a few ideas though

I have a Squirt, but its not because of Nemo, its because he was the smallest of the 3.. therefore the Squirt :)

I'd like to know a bit more about your turtle's behavior before choosing. :)

yeah me too that is why I put a 7 day on the poll.

over the last few days I have noticed . . .

at the store he keept following me around, come
to find out he was hungry. But even still he kept following me not the other people with me.

I have mentioned on other posts, he thinks he is a sculpture and we had to put fish gravel back in-he got really depressed looking with anything else in there.

He doesn't like to let us see him bask. I thought he wasn't basking actually but finally my husband went out to the garage and was sneaking in and saw him, but he went to hide as soon as he saw him.

Oh this is definately a male, he has monster claws. I tried to take pictures but you just can't see as good in the pictures.

He likes to hang out by the heater a lot.

I think that about covers the behaviors i have seen so far.

You could name him after a well-known sculptor, for example (I'd still be careful of that gravel).

I have been watching him very closely about the gravel he seems fine so far and like I said he looked really sad when I took it out. He wouldn't look at us and just laid in the corner. I amde sure it was about the size of his head so that it isn't too small.
